Urban farms, community organizations, environmental groups, and cities all over Greater Cleveland will be hosting events for Earth Day that teach people how to get involved with environmental justice and preservation.

Here’s just some of the many Earth Day celebrations you’ll find:

Free Trees For CLE

When:  3  – 7 p.m.,Thurs. April 23
Where: Fairhill Partners, 12200 Fairhill Road, Cleveland 44120
Details: Doan Brook Watershed Partnership invites Clevelanders to apply for a free native, 3-5 gallon tree for pick up the day of the event.  

Berea Earth Day Festival

When: 8 a.m., Sat. April 25
Where: 85 South Rocky River Drive, Berea 44017
Details: Clean up around Coe Lake and a community bike ride, and other fun activities are planned all morning. 

Earth Day in the Cultural Gardens

When: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Sat., April 25
Where: Centennial Peace Plaza, 1051 Martin Luther King Dr., Cleveland 44108 
Details: Volunteers work around the Cultural Gardens to prepare them for spring.

Earth Day Evening Hike

When:  6 – 7:30 p.m., Wed. April 22
Where: Rocky River Nature Center, 24000 Valley Pkwy, North Olmsted 44070
Details: Enjoy an evening hike and learn about the area’s environment from a Metroparks’ naturalist. 

Tri-C’s Wellness and Earth Fest

When: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Tues. April 21
Where: Tri-C Western Campus, 11000 Pleasant Valley Rd., Parma 44130
Details: Enjoy massage chairs and therapy dogs at Tri-C’s Earth Day festival celebrating both the earth and good human health. 

Dugway Brook Stream Clean Up

When:  10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Sat. April 25 
Where: Forest Hill Park, Forest Hills Blvd. & Terrace Rd., East Cleveland 44112
Details: Join other residents and conservation groups to clean up Dugway Brook Stream. 

City of Solon Earth Day Celebration

When: 10 a.m. – noon, Sat. April 25
Where: Solon Community Gardens
Details: Family-friendly activities for residents plus, take a hike to Solon Woods Nature Preserve.  

Keep Lakewood Beautiful Earth Day Celebration

When: 9 – 11 a.m., Sat. April 25
Where: Lakewood Public Library Main Branch, 15425 Detroit Ave., Lakewood 44107
Details: An Earth Day clean up and opportunities to learn more about preserving the earth.

CSU EarthFest

When:  10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Wed. April 22
Where:  CSU Student Center, 2121 Euclid Ave., Cleveland 44115
Details: Learn about sustainability efforts on campus and experience a Giant Earth Dome.

Euclid vs. Collinwood: The Big Clean

When:  9 a.m., Sat. April 25
Where: Euclid and Collinwood area 
Details: Euclid and Collinwood square off for a friendly match to see who can win The Big Clean and remove the most trash from their neighborhoods.
