Debt relief: Council is considering an ordinance spearheaded by Council Member Kris Harsh and co-sponsored by several other members that would spend $1.9 million to help forgive medical debt for Cleveland residents.
“This is a great program we can use with some one-time spending to help remove that burden of debt that saddles so many people and makes it hard for people to get ahead in life,” Harsh said after the ordinance was introduced.
Welcome, Danny: It was the first full regular meeting for Danny Kelly, whom council appointed to represent Ward 11 at the request of Brian Mooney, who won a seat on the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. An election for the council seat will be held in September.
