Join us at the Signal Cleveland office on May 21st from 5:30-7:30 p.m. as we take a dive into police discipline data compiled by Cleveland Documenters. We’ll look together at where the data comes from, why it’s difficult to work with, and what we see in the data so far. We want to know what you think about this info, and what’s important to you.

This is a free event. Register below to receive a reminder and other event logistics. Registering also help us make sure we have enough food for everyone.

Background: Cleveland Police Discipline

When Cleveland police officers face discipline for breaking a rule or even a law, that information is public. But the information is not easily accessible and the discipline process can be hard to understand.

Signal Cleveland and Cleveland Documenters have gathered information on years of individual cases where a police officer or other type of public safety employee is charged with violating a rule.

This discipline data is one piece of a larger system of police oversight in Cleveland that can seem complicated and opaque. Signal Cleveland has been working to make it more transparent.
