The autumn leaves haven’t fallen, but it’s already beginning to feel a lot like Christmas when it comes to finding a seasonal job.

You’ll have a chance to see who is hiring at the West Side 2025 Career and Resource Fest, which will be held 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Sept. 25  at the Eastman Branch of Cleveland Public Library, 11602 Lorain Ave., Cleveland. The employers recruiting range from retail businesses to the United States Postal Service.

[N]ow is the perfect time to start planning for extra income. That’s why we thought it best to begin recruiting early, giving those seeking seasonal employment a head start.”

Darrick McDaniel, a recruitment and development manager for the city of Cleveland on looking for holiday employment.

The job fair, sponsored by the city of Cleveland, isn’t exclusively for seasonal positions and it is open to all job seekers – not just those living on the West Side. Employers will be recruiting for seasonal jobs as well as for part-time and full-time positions, said Darrick McDaniel, a recruitment and development manager for the city.

He said if you’re hoping to land a holiday position, don’t delay your job search.

“[N]ow is the perfect time to start planning for extra income,” McDaniel wrote in an email to Signal Cleveland. “That’s why we thought it best to begin recruiting early, giving those seeking seasonal employment a head start.”

McDaniel said the event is designed so that job seekers can connect directly with employers. This includes on-the-spot interviews. Organizations focusing on career development and job resources will also be at the event.
